How are our eco-friendly skateboards and longboards made?
We have carefully selected the materials for our skateboards and longboards. Our conclusion: bamboo is the best material thanks to its great strength and flexibility. And it is eco-friendly too! Bamboo canes are planted to be sold, so they do not contribute to deforestation. The only downside is that bamboo takes patience: it takes at least 7 years before the canes can be cut to make longboards.
Apart from the main material, the best-performing skateboards and longboards also have fibres between the layers. These are usually artificial glass fibres, which harm the environment both when they are made and when they are thrown away. Our eco-friendly longboards use natural fibres, made from biodegradable products that come from nature.
A lot of glue is needed to bond all the layers and fibres, and it can be the most toxic part of a longboard. That is why we use recycled epoxy resin whose main components are bio-based.
